6U - birth year 2013/2014
Field Size: 25 yards by 40 yards
Ball Size: 3
Roster Maximum: 7
Players on field: 4
game length: Four 7 minute quarters
Practice Sessions: Maximum 1 hour sessions - 2 per week

Rule Modifications:
-No Goalkeepers
-No Corner kicks (use corner throw in)
-Goal kicks: Ball to be placed 1 yard in front of the goal
-No slide tackling
-No free kicks (explain infraction t both teams, restart with drop ball)
-No heading the ball - penalty will be a throw in for the opposing team
-In the event that one team is short of the normal number of players, the opposing team is required to reduce the number of players on the field. This is mandatory unless the coaches agree otherwise

Coaching Modifications
Coaches may enter the field of play to coach in a positive manner

Referee Modifications
No carding players allowed. (Recommendation: each coach referee one half of game)
Practice Modification:
Practice at this age should be informal and optional. Make these sessions a fun time for everyone.

The 6U playing field is a scaled down version of a full-sized soccer field, including a "penalty area." However, the only significance of the "penalty are" is to designate an area that defensive players cannot be in when a goal kick is taken. There are no penalty kicks in our 6U game
